I want to share with you these nice words once I read. These words full of love and peace. My purpose is to let you know how much I will miss you, but this is not a good-bye forever. You will start a new year, and it will be full of good moments. Only you need to practice what Jesus said “ To love God with all your heart... and to love your neighbours as yourself”
I know sometimes this is difficult but it is not impossible. Try to be kind, tolerant and to help others. Happiness comes from good actions and a good attitude.

Queridos niños del segundo grado. Con mucha alegría les cuento que me encuentro muy orgullosa de cada uno de ustedes. Recuerdo nuestro trabajo durante la primera semana de clases y es realmente gratificante ver como día a día sus progresos han sido enormes. Al concluir este año de estudios no me queda más que felicitarlos por la enorme entrega, entusiasmo y creatividad al plasmar cada uno de sus aprendizajes en sus lindas producciones. Aqui les dejo algunas fotos de sus trabajos, espero los recuerden y cuando inicien un nuevo año superen aún más todo lo que aprendieron. Now our students are at the end of the term. They all are studying hard for the exams and also they are preparing many hands on decoration in class for their homes. They are painting some candle boxes and Christmas tree ornaments. They enjoyed this activity very much. All this preparation is to receive with happiness and joy our saviour. Also they wrote a lovely message in their Christmas cards to express thei feelings of love and best wishes for their families.

OUR STUDENTS IN THE FESTIDANZA FESTIVAL

Last Saturday 21st, our second grade students show their beautiful dances in the Festidanza Festival.

On this day Grade 2 Dolphins, Goldfish and Seahorses danced rhythms from the highlands and the coast.
The beautiful dresses and costumes flowed and showed their coordinate movements and rhythm of the music. These lovely and colorfull dresses helped the students to show the fancy movements of the afroperuvian and andean rhythms. They enjoyed these dances very much.

DÍA DE LA CANCIÓN CRIOLLA

El viernes 30 de Octubre realizamos en el colegio San Jorge la actividad por el Día de la canción criolla. Los niños de segundo grado cantaron y disfrutaron de un "Karaoke criollo" en el cual pudieron entonar con ayuda de miss Violeta la linda "Flor de la Canela" y "José Antonio". Luego pudimos escuchar a José Sambrailo quien una vez más nos encanta con su gran destreza en el piano, esta vez tocando nuestra inigualable música criolla. Y como no contar con el delicioso compartir criollo gracias a la colaboración de cada uno de los niños quienes degustaron deliciosos platos y postres. Muchas gracias por la colaboración de cada una de las madres y poder decir una vez más "Que viva la canción Criolla".

KAMISHIBAI

La ruta del Kamishibai (teatro de papel japonés) se presentó en el Auditorio Municipal y Salón Multiuso de San Isidro.

El pasado 01 de noviembre los niños de segundo grado tuvieron la oportunidad de asistir a la última función que presentó el señor Pepe Cabana Kojachi "Mukashi Mukashi". La cual causó una gran impresión entre los asistentes.

Los niños tuvieron la oportunidad de interactuar en la narración y disfrutar de esta propuesta de "Proyecto Kamishibai Perú" al fusionar la técnica japonesa con el arte popular y contemporáneo peruano.

FIRST SPRING FESTIVAL AT ST. GEORGE

We had a wonderful experience during our first Spring Festival at school. All our students were excited to participate in the different contests. They participated in the spelling bee, they drew covers for the stories that they had read and they created short stories in Spanish and English, too. As well as taking pictures for the science photo competition. All these things helped them to develop their creativity and to promote their competitive spirit.

The Spring Festival will always stay in their minds and hearts. As teachers we know all the hard work they put into it and we feel very proud of them. The Spring Festival has taught us that with perseverance and commitment we can reach all our goals.

BIENVENIDOS AL CUARTO BIMESTRE

¡¡Nos volvemos a encontrar!! Chicos y chicas, esperamos que hayan tenido unos días de descanso y distracción, hoy los vemos nuevamente y esperamos que vengan con muchas ganas de compartir todo lo que vivieron, también aprender y compartir nuevas cada día cosas nuevas y divertidas. VISITA DE ESTUDIO - MUSEO DE LA NACIÓN

Al terminar el tercer bimestre los niños de segundo grado visitaron el Museo de la Nación, en el cual reforzaron todos los conocimientos adquiridos sobre "La Vivienda" y culturas Pre Incas.
Al iniciar la visita conocimos las características más importantes de las viviendas y observamos cerámicas, muestras de tejidos, esculturas, etc de las Culturas Pre Incas, al finalizar la visita participamos de un taller en el cual cada niño pudo elaborar su propio huaco con arcilla. ¡¡¡ Fue muy divertido y aprendimos muchas cosas!!!

LA VIVIENDA

Durante el tercer bimestre el segundo grado estuvo trabajando como tema de Inquiry "La vivienda". En el curso de Social Studies revisamos y aprendimos cosas nuevas sobre la vivienda a través de la historia. Los niños tuvieron la oportunidad de construir maquetas sobre las viviendas de la Costa, Sierra y Selva, aprendieron las características en la construcción de las viviendas según algunos factores como: el clima, los materiales propios del lugar, costumbres, etc. También diferenciaron las características de las viviendas de los hombres primitivos y de las culturas Pre Incas.

PREPARANDO TRIPLES DE POLLO

Durante el tercer bimestre los niños de segundo grado estuvieron aprendiendo algo más sobre los textos instructivos, por ello revisamos las características de los textos instructivos y los niños de los tres salones prepararon Triples de pollo,todo fue muy divertido y lo más importante que cada niño tuvo la oportunidad de aprender algo más sobre las recetas y disfrutar sus deliciosos triples.

Father's Day - Sports Day

El pasado sábado 20 de Junio, tuvimos nuestra celebración en el colegio por el Día del Padre. Este grandioso día lo compartimos con todos los padres de las cuatro houses. Este año tuvimos la innovación de cambio de nombres de cada casa. Ahora tenemos la casa Phoenix (red), la casa Pegasus (blue), la casa Minotaur (green) y la casa Griffin (yellow). Fue un día colorido y lleno de júbilo. Los integrantes de cada casa hicieron su mejeor esfuerzo por acumular puntos y ganar la Copa del Sports Day. En este día rendimos un Homenaje a nuestros queridos Padres Sanjorginos. Esperamos la hayan pasado bien y muy contentos al lado de sus familias.

HOMENAJE A LA VIRGEN

En el segundo grado tenemos muchos niños muy talentosos al igual que en todo el colegio San Jorge. El día 8 de Mayo en el Auditorio del Centro Cultural Ricardo Palma de Miraflores nuestro querido Jose Andrés Sambrailo hizo gala de toda su habilidad tocando el piano, nos deleitó con: Corre Riachuelo y Cuento Azul. Felicitaciones Jose y que esperamos que puedas compartir aqui en el colegio más de tu arte.Aqui algunas fotitos del recuerdo:

FELIZ DÍA MAMÁ

Días previos al día de mamá los niños estuvieron muy emocionados preparando una manualidad para sus mamis, pintaron unas mariposas y flores porta aretes mostrando toda su creatividad e ingenio. También estuvieron practicando sus canciones y poesías en inglés y castellano.

Llegó el día 8 de mayo y todos los niños estaban listos esperando a mamá, cada uno quería mostrar a su mami todo lo que había aprendido y así fue, en cada sección los niños mostraron lo mejor de cada uno y pudieron compartir con las mamis bonitos momentos como :crear un cuadrito juntos, leer las cartas que cada uno escribió a mamá y al final un trabajo para las mamis, crearon unos cuentos por grupos y el resultado fue el esperado... Unos cuentos super creativos con una versión diferente de los cuentos clásicos. Esperamos que hayan pasado un Feliz Día de la Madre y que sigan con ese entusiasmo y alegría contagiante.

VISITA AL RINCÓN ECOLÓGICO

El martes 28 de abril nos fuimaos de visita al Rincón Ecológico en Cieneguilla. Al iniciar la visita nos encontrábamos muy emocionados porque conoceríamos un nuevo lugar. Los niños estuvieron desde muy temprano alistando sus cosas para poder iniciar el recorrido, al llegar al lugar las guías nos dieron una cordial bienvenida, luego de dejar ubicadas nuestras cosas nos formamos en grupos para empezar el recorrido y los talleres.

Algunos grupos aprendieron a estampar polos usando la técnica de batik, otros fueron a la panadería e hicieron unos deliciosos panes. Todos visitamos la huerta donde cosechamos algunos alimentos y pudimos darles de comer a los animales como los patos, ganzos, cabras, conejos, gallinas, cuyes,etc.

También plantamos nuestro maíz y nos lo trajimos de recuerdo. Pasamos un lindo día y lo más importante conocimos algo más de nuestra naturaleza.

Para finalizar los chicos comieron los alimentos de sus loncheras y jugaron en el campo, al final llenos de entusiasmo regresamos al colegio muy contentos y felices.

RALLEY'S DAY

EL DESEMPATE
El jueves 23 de abril los niños de primer y segundo grado estaban muy entusiasmados y algo nerviosos porque tenían que desempatar. Algunos seguían alentando a su equipo, otros observaban con mucha curiosidad y otros se preguntaban ¿Cuál sería la prueba para el desempate? Al fin sus dudas fueron resueltas se iba realizar una prueba de velocidad, ahora no estaríamos tan confiados, ya que los chicos del primer grado eran súper veloces. Salió el equipo representante se organizó quién va delante, quién detrás y empezó la competencia...El consejo de la miss “Chicos corran como si hubiera un león persiguiéndolos” y así lo hicieron, no pararon hasta !!!!!GANAR!!!!! Y estalló la barra con un fuerte “Second grade” “Second grade” que se escuchó en todo el colegio. Para recuperar fuerzas unos dulces como premios reconfortaron a todos los participantes incluida la barra. Muy bien chicos Felicitaciones. Una vez más el segundo grado demostró todo su entusiasmo y esfuerzo. Miss Emma

The History of St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day, celebrated every year on March 17, is a holiday honoring Saint Patrick, the missionary credited with converting the Irish to Christianity in the A.D. 400s. Saint Patrick's real name was Maewyn Succat. For his first 16 years, Maewyn lived a normal life as the son of a wealthy landowner and magistrate in Britain.
At 16, Maewyn was captured and sold into slavery by a group of pirates who raided his village. After six years of herding sheep, Maewyn escaped, went to France and became a priest, adopting the name Patrick.
During his training, Patrick discovered that his calling was to convert Irish pagans to Christianity. He returned to Ireland, established monasteries across the country, set up schools and churches, and converted many with his winning personality. Patrick carried on a very successful mission for thirty years. When he died on March 17, that day was commemorated as St. Patrick's Day.
Originally a Catholic holy day, St. Patrick's Day has evolved into more of a secular holiday. In America, in fact, St. Patrick's Day is basically a time when everyone becomes Irish, wears green and goes out to party.
